A sub-trope, I think, would be the swimsuit caught on a fishing hook. It's been happening at least since "The Girl From Jones Beach" and happens often enough ("The Glass Bottom Boat," "Beach Blanket Bingo," "Gilligan's Island") to count as a trope. It can result in a "cute meet."
"Occurs in an episode of Dilbert but not to a member of the main cast. An important business client recalls the story of his biggest shame, jumping into a lake when he was a kid , losing his trunks and being forced to walk out of the lake completely nude while all of his friends and family were watching, earning him the nickname "acorn" which haunts him for the rest of his life. Acorn just coincidentally happens to be the name of the new business idea they created for him, however."
I saw this episode, and I'm not sure this is an appropriate representation of the trope; the wardrobe malfunction in question was not due to a dive, but to the antagonization by a snapping turtle. Does this still count?

Anybody else think we need to update some of the links? Since several of them are dead in the advertising area.
