Where would simians or “anthropoid” primates go on the sliding scale of anthropomorphism (Body Type) considering that humans did evolve from simians and anthropomorphism means human form. Personally since apes and monkeys seem to have human like characteristics to their physiology I think at the very least it would be like at demihuman level of anthropomorphism like the hobbit.
I also feel like this should be another attribute to the scale of anthropomorphism other than body type (anything between humanoid to non-humanoid), There should also be a Scale of Sentience/intelligence Type Anthropomorphism (If the Individual Entity has The “Human-Like” Quality of Sapience or not should determine whether they’re a person (Personified Entity) or not?)

Do you think fantastic sapient species should be related to sliding scale of anthropomorphism in some capacity?
Edited by Heartz13I'm a bit inconsistant when it comes to this. I have some characters that are plain animals, some that look like animals, but walk like humans, and some are straight up PZP. It's all over the place

I was thinking about adding the Unnecessarily Creepy Robot trope to the scale but ran into a problem with the aspect of intentional dissonance on the part of the author. Any advice?
another troubling aspect is that I would possibly unintentionally add a "creepy" axis to the scale.
Edited by 99.175.249.171 Hide / Show RepliesWhere would simians or “anthropoid” primates go physiologically on the sliding scale of anthropomorphic body type Because human beings evolve from primates, I feel like they would be considered Pre-Humanoid or semi-humanoid.
What do you think?
Edited by Heartz13Removed the official type numbers on the Body Types, since Type Labels Are Not Examples. Otherwise, this by far the most informative and well maintained sliding scale on the wiki. Keep up the good work!
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.This has the most epic image I've ever seen! What is the source for this image?

Edited by rodneyAnonymous Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I've removed the first 'Sliding Scale' in favour of the second 'Body Type' scale. Both have almost identical information but the second is neater, more informative and easier to read.
If you have a problem, just switch it back and I'm fine, but keep in mind that the two scales are pretty much identical in both content and purpose.
About the East vs West thing... does the author not know what "kemono" is?

Added cyborgs under robots- seeing the other scales, methinks it makes sense to have them as the first step.
I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me.
So on the "Sliding Scale of Animal Anthropomorphism" section talking about Beast Man, it states that "they don't have difficult-to-draw human faces". However, the "Sliding Scale of Animal Body Type Anthropomorphism" section says "They resemble an animal's head and tail (where applicable) placed on an animal accented human body frame. They have either a completely animal-shaped head, a largely animal-shaped head, or a half human/half animal-shaped head". Should we change either or to make them consistent with each other?
