Because it's shorter to type, got there first, may happen more with male gods, and female deities can be "god" or "godess".
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

You know, I always thought that it would be cool if there was a game that turned this into a mechanic, where there actually were things you could do or items you could equip that would subtly, but noticeably bend probability in your favor.

Some games kind of do that already (take a look at the Luck Stat trope for example), but I agree that it would be cool to see if it was done correctly.

The Real Life section seems to jump the rails a bit where the topic is concerned. It devolves from the trope topic (summed up nicely by the Laconic page) to just "interesting facts about probability and random number generation." Is there anywhere appropriate to relocate some of these? A lot of the entries are genuinely interesting and informative, but only tangentially related to the actual trope.
