This article might benefit from cleaning up. Over half of the entries don't follow the trope. Instead, many of them say "this person actually was that kind of doctor" which is not what the trope is for.

I second that. I will probably make a major cut later on.

And no body even thought of Indiana Jones, Dr. Jones? BOTH Dr. Jones(Henry and Jr.) were NOT medical doctors and replied to the title Dr. Jones at the same time in The Last Crusade, and Indy responsed to Dr. Jones a lot of times in all of the movies.

Actually, "Arzt" is only the word of the field of work in practicing medicine - it includes surgeons, gynecologists etc. If you heal people while owning an approbation, you are an Arzt, through you don't need to have a Doktor title. However, everyone who had a "Promotion" in whatever academical field is a Doktor (of whatever, Dr. phil.(osophus) is the equivalent to Ph D) and referred to as "Doktor Whatshisname". I am a Dr.Dr. which sounds very impressing till I have to point out that it's for two subjects of the humanities. Therefore the problem that people think everyone referred to as "Doktor" is an "Arzt" is exactly the same as doctor= MD.
