I feel like a few of the examples are just installments of cash-cow franchises that could have expected to be reliable profit machines regardless of publicity. IMO examples should try to explain why the "negative" publicity actually helped draw more consumers to the work. Can we really attribute Harry Potter Legacy's runaway success to a backlash against a handful of freelance journalists, or is it just that of course it's going to sell like hot cakes because it's Harry Potter?
