This is just aversions of Fourth Wall. I don't think averting a trope can be a trope in itself.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThis article needs a cleanup, IMO.
The Laconic page says: "Breaking the Fourth Wall so often it might as well not be there at all." However, there seems to be a lot of examples that are just the character looking in the general direction of the camera (which is already covered in Aside Glance) or a character looking at the camera as they say something, even if they're not specifically addressing the audience.
I'm just asking if these are good examples or not, so I can be sure on whether or not I should delete these when I see them.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHere's a question. How would you classify a piece of media where if the fourth wall breaks were removed, it would feel worse but the plot would not be significantly changed? Some examples of this in between area would be Pokemon and Professor Layton. In those games, the fourth wall breaks do not quite reach the no fourth wall but their absence would be very noticeable and people would complain.
I think that the ginormous quote in the Fanfic section is way way way too much. If it were a published piece we would be on the edge of copyright infringement by quoting that much. Why not just link to it?
This needs to be cleaned up. At least three or four of the entries need to be removed, and that's just in the Anime/Manga section. These examples generally need to be moved to Breaking the Fourth Wall, as they don't meet the essential criterion of "would be totally different without 4th Wall abuse".
Hide / Show RepliesMoving them is redundant, as many of them were already on the page for Breaking the Fourth Wall.
Anyway, I cut a lot of examples, as well as the page quote and page picture (as both only indicated breaking the fourth wall, not that the wall doesn't even exist). It wouldn't surprise me to learn that there are more inaccurate examples left that I didn't cut- feel free to take any out that you feel don't meet the trope's setting criteria.
See you in the discussion pages.
I disagree about Willing Suspension of Disbelief being this trope's sworn enemy. No Fourth Wall characters can't really see and hear us — we just pretend they can. So No Fourth Wall actually requires a Willing Suspension of Disbelief. If you actually believe they can see and hear you just because there's No Fourth Wall, then you're just stupid.
