Parking the examples (there should not be any examples on this page):

Examples:

    open/close all folders

    Anime & Manga

     Comic Books

    Film
  • Tombo from Kikis Delivery Service.
  • Seymour Krelborn from the musical Little Shop of Horrors.
  • Megamind has Bernard, who seems closer to the stoic example, and Megamind as Bernard who is a sweeter example.
  • The Movie version of Spider-Man has Peter this before getting his spider powers that allows him to see without his glasses. He wears those again in the sequel when he becomes normal. It's averted in the third movie, though.

     Literature

     Live Action TV

    Video Games

    Web Comics
  • Sven Bianchi from Questionable Content, who usually wears fairly small, round glasses and has one of the most active sex lives in the comic. (Or he did, anyway.) He doesn't quite fit under any of the subtropes about character types who wear glasses, since he's not enough of a jerk to be a Spectacled Sadist, not stoic enough for them to be Stoic Spectacles, and not remotely shy enough to be a male Meganekko.

    Western Animation
  • Tom Chan on The Amazing Chan And The Chan Clan.
  • Cyclops/Scott Summers from X Men Evolution wore special sunglasses to keep his Eye Beams in check, but his youthful and handsome design in the series seems to have been made with the megane archetype in mind.
  • Megamind in his alter-ego form as Bernard. Definitely, the glasses add to the sweet & vulnerable look.

I just added examples to the Megane trope. It needs some more.

Why is there a link to Meganekko if that trope is categorised under Always Female?

There's a few tropes (The Cutie, She Cleans Up Nicely) labeled as Always Female where there's accepted male examples. Unless they're hardcore must-be-female tropes, I guess it's more of a guideline than a rule.

I cut up one dozen new men and you will die somewhat, again and again.

Why do we even have this page? This isn't a trope.

Fair enough. Sorry, I thought it was just a page on glasses in anime in general.
