I believe the Star Trek entry needs to be modified. It reads more like Religion versus Science, which is just begging for trouble.
Disgusted, but not surprised"But why exactly does magic disrupt, say, the electrical impulses in your CD player, but not the electrical impulses in your brain?"
maybe we should reword this, it's only at higher energy levels that you start being affected. A normal human can be exposure electronic damaging EMPs for prolonged periods of time with no ill effects. the way it's written at the moment seems to suggest hanging around a magnet will cause your head to explode.
Edited by joeyjojo hashtagsarestupid Hide / Show Repliesthe whole EMP thing crosses me as a rather flimsy way to keep us from asking why technology isnt used when it would be much more logical. Compare the speed of an email to that of an owl, for instance.
Fire Nation Bender ratio: This is incorrect, the Earth Kingdom actually has the lowest ratio, but has the largest number of people. The way this troper sees it, every nation has about the same number of Benders, but the Fire Nation and the Water Tribes have more people than the Air Nomads, so have a lot more non-Benders. The Earth Kingdom, on the other hand, is HUGE and has way more people, however, they have the largest precentage of non-Benders.
Should we separate "magic and technology are exclusive" from the first argument?
I know it's usually a case of mages being Walking Techbanes but I know a few where tech damages magic, like Shadowrun.
