Pulled this example. If he isn't going incognito (and the example says nothing of the kind), it's not this trope.
- Bob Iger, current Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, has a fondness of visiting the various Disney resorts and theme parks with his family without ever once telling the people running those parks that he's coming. Its his way of making sure that Disney's standards of behavior are being maintained.

Song of Ice and Fire has Mance Rayder, King beyond the Wall, disguising himself as a minstrel to lay eyes on his counterpart, King Robert. King Robert himself entertains plans to do this, but doesn't, because of how awful his son is.

- Is there a Trope Shakespeare * didn't* use?
- No.
- It's a little known fact that Shakespeare's works include such things as Data Vampires, the Classic Cheat Code, Trainstopping, Personality Blood Types, and America Saves the Day
- No.
- Is there a Trope Shakespeare * didn't* use?
Frankly, I am a bit miffed that this trope isn't named "Kingcognito".
