  • The fairy tale Sleeping Beauty uses a magic curse. When a spindle pricks the princess, the curse activates and the princess instantly falls asleep. She'll never wake up until something specific happens; in the Disney version, she needs the True Love's Kiss.

IIIIIIIIIIIII don't think this is an example of the trope.

I wonder about Instant Sedation because there are Nero-toxins that can kill or paralyze near instantly. Why not develop a variation that the put a person to sleep?

The 'toxin' part means the substances cause (usually permanent) physical damage to the nervous system (peripheral, central, or both). Most substances used for sedatives and tranqs are used because, handled properly, they don't cause permanent or long-term damage. Developing a neuro-toxin into a sedative isn't practical -or even really possible- with known science.

Google the chemical/molecular/atomic structures of samples of sedatives, tranqs, and neuro-toxins. They're rather informative.
