In cases like comics that credit the original authors, like Batman — created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, or The Phantom by Lee Falk, would it be an example of the trope? If so, into which subcategory would it fall? I'm inclined to think of Type I, but I may be wrong.

This trope was recently parodied in the CC Roast of James Franco.

In the case of number three, couldn't it also be used to differentiate between different versions of a work? For example, Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. There have been so many different adaptations of Sherlock Holmes by now that you kind of have to say who the director or the star of the movie was or what year it came out in just so people know which one you are talking about.
