I agree that "Dainty Run" would be better, but consider that when female characters are animated in this way, it is usually to make them look girly, whether for good or bad. To an extent the trope title reflects the intention behind the usage. And I am not sure that "frivolous" is any less insulting.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.

The statement that Jack Sparrow's run in Piratesofthe Caribbean was inspired by Tuco Ramirez's intrigues me. Is this really true? Is there a source somewhere?

Removed Chrono Trigger as an example, because I looked at the sprite sheets and while Marle looks daintier because of her outfit, she doesn't seem to have a different walk/run animation cycle as compared to Lucca or Chrono.
Can we please, please, please change the name of this trope? It's unecessarily sexist, especially since it runs on the stereotype of running "like a girl"(in a negative way, of course). I know people will call me a Straw Feminist who suffers from Political Correctness Gone Mad, but this is still a microaggression that is present throughout TVTropes. Perhaps it could be named "Dainty Run" "Frivolous Gait" "Cutesy Run" anything that doesn't rely on insulting an entire gender by using the term "girly" as an insult.
