Would a character who spent an entire year at a new school and didn't make a single friend be an Exaggerated Trope?

Probably, yeah. Combining multiple subtypes and dragging it out should work for that. As would having the character be part of lots of big highly sociable groups (theater, etc) and still fail to make friends.
