So I've seen recently on Twitter that the Hilda fandom is angered at the Arcane series beating out Hilda at the Annie Awards, which led to fans hating the show because of it. Does this count as Fandom Rivarly?
Smallville P.S.A
If someone tells you to skip seasons 1-3 please do not be a follower. Seasons 1-3 are the highest rated for a reason. It's when all 3 main characters are friends, and it build their relationships and the dangers they face. If someone tells you to skip seasons 1-3 it's either because they don't like Lana, Lex, their friendships with Clark and are trying to make you not like them as well. They also may be obsessed with Chloe, who is pining after Clark in season 1, but tries to find out Clark's secret in 2, and teams up with Lionel Luthor in 3. Please don't let their biases stop you from enjoying the highest rated seasons.
What if the rivalry exist between 2 media of differing mediums? I'm pretty sure it isn't impossible , so how is it listed on-page?
Cassie | he/they | But will it stop the pain forever? / I just can't be sureWhat about the "Idol War"? (Love Live!, Idolm@ster, Pretty Rhythm, Wake Up Girls, Aikatsu, and the others? (Not sure if those are correct, I can't remember))
i need help with this: * One of the nastiest: The Illusionist vs. The Prestige. Be careful who you discuss either of these movies with. The argument might lead to IQ dissing. Popular ways to start the cuss-out, say: Prestige sells itself on a smart gimmick, while Illusionist just sells itself... on the street-corner... for five dollars. Seriously though, it's impossible to find someone who's a fan of both, even though both movies deal with magicians and revenge plots... They just appeal to different folks. One is suspenseful while the other isn't. One is about complex characters in a tight plot, the other is based on caricatures in a live action cartoon in pot-hole-ville. Good acting vs. bad acting. Nolan versus some ——er. Epic vs. crapfest. Science and creativity vs. a cliche cold front. And I'm really trying to be unbiased here. Loving one means hating the other. In fact, your love for one is pretty much defined by how much you hate the other. People pick sides based on which one they saw first, which one they saw in the cinema, Bale/Norton affection, Jackman/Rufus affection, belief that if it has Caine/Giamatti in it, it must be epic... But you have to pick a side.
How are these comparable in the first place? The first one is has noticable character development and a dark story line along with some deconstruction, the other one seems merchandise driven and taking place in a Tastes Like Diabetes universe featuring stripperific costume porn. I mean, these series may be aimed at the same audiences, but different styles of art, different settings... and so on. Just compare the relevant TV Tropes pages. How are these franchises comparable in first place, how is there even a rivalry? I would go as far and say WITCH is to WINX what Watchmen is to the golden age comics (age-appropiate of course).
Watchmen vs. Silver Age comics looks like a reasonable rivalry to me, even if we all know who won.
There is a fine line between recklessness and courage — Paul McCartney Whoops. Forgot that Colin Mochrie wasn't from the States. My bad. Ignore. I changeds it.
Do you think, this trope would benefit from requiring works/examples to be at least 3-6 months old, to ensure that it is an actual rivalry and not a brief scuffle, or would that limit things too much?
