I haven't seen the movies, but your rationale is fair. Apparently, some people have yet to fully understand what this page is about.
135 - 158 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Sorry, but Blackadder series 1 is considered "excellent in its own right"? Who says this? When Blackadder ranks on popular comedy shows, I'm pretty sure it's propped up entirely by series 2-4.

Edited by TruroShould there be a trope page for Even Better Remake/Reboot?
Hide / Show RepliesThis entire page should be removed. It is pure Your Mileage May Vary.
I'm going to remove Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood from the examples. It's a re-adaption of the source material, so it can't really be called a sequel.
Street Fighter's on this and Surprisingly Improved Sequel. Which is it?
There are a lot of valid examples posted in this trope, but I would suggest a large amount of the "personal fandom" of some of the sections may need to be reviewed, since saying something is "awesome 'cause Henry Rollins wuz in it!" makes some of these pages hard to take seriously sometimes.
Hide / Show RepliesFor a prime example, look at the entry for Jak II, the first one posted in the Video Games section - it's cool the writer appears to have liked the game, but the entire entry is written in the style of an advertisement/personal endorsement. Citing reviews that state some of these points (and any one that states that actually states that Super Mario 64 was "too short" would be a good start).

The original Tremors is the most popular version. All of the rest are DTV sequels that much fewer people ever saw.
