I don't get why it's listed as a trope (which I don't dispute), but doesn't do any indexing of the applicable acts. Shouldn't this be rectified?

Does anyone else think the tone of the description is off-putting? The actual information might be fine, but it seems more like the article is scolding me for assuming certain things about Christian Rock before it tells me what Christian Rock /is/. And it seems to be emphasizing how similar Christian Rock is to mainstream rock music without explaining /why/ there's apparently a popular misconception that it's different. I'd edit it myself to be a little more neutral but I don't know enough about CCM to know how.

But like, for example, instead of "Additionally, Christian Rock is less The Moral Substitute than is popularly believed," the article can say: "Christian Rock is popularly regarded as The Moral Substitute because of X reasons. However, there are prominent exceptions/reasons this is false like Y and Z."

Yeah, not a particularly good written description the way I see it. Might want to report it here

I am utterly bowled over and shocked by this article (note, as of yet I've only read the description.) But I was not expecting the article to be this even handed and positive. I was expecting a critical mass of snark. I mean I'm a Christian and even I don't like most Christian Rock (but then I'm extremely picky about music in general and not in a "refined taste" sort of way.)

Thank you. Just, Thank you. :)

Yeah, I was actually somewhat surprised as well. Then again, I discovered this page right after checking out the Chick Tract page and well....that's the reason why I was a little surprised.

Same here. My only complaint was the fact that the article said "[Christian Rock is] less of The Moral Substitute than most people think..." and then at the end it says "A Sub-Trope of The Moral Substitute". Other than that, I really appreciated how well this was handled.

Thank you TV Tropes!

Can we organize this into genres? That makes much more sense than the way this its current layout

Just wondering, why was my edit (the link to Jeff Godwin) edited out of the main page? Are we not allowed to add links?

I seem to remember a less-than-flattering quote from "King of the Hill" at the top of the page which is now gone. I don't want to just up and add this without knowing if there's any protocol for doing so, but I have a quote that, while still snarky, manages to be less cynical, while still critical. In other words, it manages to acknowledge Christian rock's shortcomings while still affirming that there can still be some good qualities to it.

Added a link to an educational video by Jeff Godwin (a former rock musician, current pastor, and friend of Jack Chick) who denounces all forms of rock music (including christian rock) as blasphemous and witchcraft.

Although I, like many people, find this stance to be utterly ridiculous, I think that including this link might be helpful for explaining why certain churches disapprove of christian rock, due to the fact that Godwin cites many references from the Bible and applies them to Christian Rock bands.
