Why do I get the feeling that this is among one of the only few Audience Reaction tropes serving as a tell for when a certain villain is so universally or extremely hated that their downfall evokes total utter glee, unless they also have other YMMV notes that specifically mitigate that like Love to Hate or Evil Is Cool? I.E. character is an absolute Hate Sink of an exceptional variety that is also very effective at being one and all the YMMV entry of the work they're in has to show for it is... just Catharsis Factor for their comeuppance besides a Moral Event Horizon or Complete Monster entry that only elaborates on why they're so bad?

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo, we have Out-of-Universe Catharsis for video games. Not for any other media.
Why not?
Hide / Show RepliesThat is weird. Would be worth proposing to expand the trope, but TRS always seems to be full lately.
Work titles need italics and examples need details. Please see How To Write An Example.

Per TRS, Catharsis Factor had a Trope Transplant that moved video game examples to Stress-Relieving Gameplay, while the former name was reused for a No On-Page Examples supertrope for other works.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
