In what way is this actually different from a Brutal Bonus Level? These pages seem to describe the same thing. Yes, BBL points out that a Bonus Dungeon doesn't *have* to be difficult, but ... doesn't that make it a Secret Level? There are little differences between these tropes here and there, but I don't know if we need pages for every tiny permutation of the concept of "bonus level".

Short version: Bonus Dungeon has very little distinction from either Brutal Bonus Level or Secret Level, depending on how you look at it.

descent secret levels:

Text presently states "the first two descent games". All three descent games had secret levels or bonus dungeons (depending on where your threshold lies). "Origin Zero" and "High Velocity Weapons Research" in the case of Descent 3.

Origin Zero has a slightly occult theme (level end is a glowing pentagram teleporter) and eventually pits you against robot marines brandishing omega cannons (rather hard to beat at that point, but then giving you early access to the splendid omega cannon vampiric weapon).

"High Velocity Weapons Research" mostly consists of linear accelerator tunnels and tough frag grenade turrets.
