Is angst-coma like a literal coma? Or is it a trance-like state in which a person is still partially concious and possibly able to walk and talk? (though couldn't be able act normally, of course)

I'd tend to think that if someone is functional enough to move under their own power or carry on a conversation, it probably wouldn't count as an Angst Coma. Murmuring nonsense and/or a Madness Mantra or being able to move short distances if led by the hand could possibly still qualify.

No. This was specifically created as a subtrope split off from the overly-inclusive Heroic BSoD.
