The Bleeding is a 2009 American action horror film featuring Vinnie Jones, Michael Madsen Armand Assante and DMX and distributed by Anchor Bay.
Shawn Black is a Special Forces veteran on the hunt for his parents' killers. During his hunt, he discovers that they were slain by vampires, and he's The Chosen One destined to destroy them. Also, as it turns out, the vamp he's looking for is his brother. Teaming up with other hunters, Shawn seeks to destroy the undead once and for all.
This film contains examples of:
- Big Bad: Cain Black, a Vampire Monarch seeking to spread the undead plague across the world.
- Cain and Abel: Shawn's Arch-Enemy is his brother, who became the Vampire King and killed their parents, and is also literally named Cain. In fact, every Vampire King has a brother who is the only one who can kill him.
- Greater-Scope Villain: The vampires are highly implied to be agents of Satan.
- Hate Sink: Johnny the Perv, a scumbag who helps lure people to Cain's vampire nightclub, and takes the opportunity to sexually harass random women.
- Historical Rap Sheet: The vampires were responsible for the Black Death.
- How We Got Here: The film opens with Shawn saving a woman from some vampires that are chasing her, then cuts to three days before where the real plot starts.
- I Have No Son!: Shawn disowns his brother after seeing the madman he's become, claiming his real brother died in Afghanistan.
- I Need a Freaking Drink: After his parents are murdered, Shawn debates between his next action being getting drunk or a Roaring Rampage of Revenge. He chooses the former, but gets interrupted.
- Our Vampires A Re Different: These are horrifying parasites that stalk the Earth, killing stragglers of humanity while they wait for a new king to arise and lead them as a dark army until he's slain. They can live in the sunlight, but are slightly weakened. They can be killed by garlic, silver or blessed weapons, and need to sleep in their coffins regularly to live.
- Predecessor Villain: There have been many Vampire Monarchs before Cain. One of them caused the Black Death.
- The Sociopath: Cain Black, a soldier who took up vampirism after being mortally wounded and immediately started laying the groundwork for a massacre of humanity, thinking nothing of killing his parents or trying to kill his brother in the process.

- Vampire Monarch: A new one shows up every 200 years to lead the undead on a giant rampage, with the most recent one being the film's Big Bad.
- Vampires Own Nightclubs: Cain owns one called Club Mortem, where he lures people so they can be drained by his goons.
