Bakemonogatari page refers to "the Monogatari series", while the title applies only to the first novel (out of 24?). Is that a problem?

I'm not sure if this is a shout-out or not and wanted opinions.
Episode 2 has Kanbaru mistaking "bracelet" for "let's breath". Final Fantasy Tactics had a similar translation error in the game where things like "Fire Breath" were translated as "Fire Bracelet". Likewise "Stop Breath" was seen as "Stop Bracelet". Too far fetched as a shout out?

To be honest, I don't think these translation mistakes are well-known enough in Japan, but who knows...

Was the scene with Koyomi brushing Tsukihi's teeth really suggestive of rape? This troper thought that it was simply suggestive of sex. I tried contacting the troper who put in the mention but they haven't responded and I'm hesitant to just change the entry without asking others first.

For what little it's worth, neither I nor anyone I've seen have really gotten that vibe. Anecdotal, I know, but what else is there for this kind of thing? It's certainly sexual, but I was not really getting the rape vibe from it, and this is the only site I've seen that inferred that from it. It's still uncomfortable because it's reminiscent of Brother–Sister Incest though.
Although I don't like unilaterally removing things completely, if that troper disappeared it might have to go that route in this case.

It might simply be my computer, but when Bakemonogatari got moved to Light Novel/ we seem to have lost the links to the Crowning Moments (they can still be found by typing Funny and the like in the address). Should we simply copy the entries and make new Crowning Moments pages?

...wait, what? Why are we moving this to a "light novel" space now? How is it really different from other forms of literature? It's not like visual novels, which are physically a different medium.

Is there any consensus on which dere she is, if any are actually applicable. I see parts of each in her, but surely there is a better description of her?

I think it does say something good about her character that she can't be easily pigeonholed into any of those categories. I think all have aspects that fit, but if push comes to shove I'd describe her as a tsundere—the anime and light novel both refer to her as that by name repeatedly, and her behavior can "basically" be described as a tsundere who's too deadpan to fit the average definition. However, she's got enough aspects of all of the others and especially Defrosting Ice Queen that I can't really justify taking out any of them, although they might need more explanation. There's a world of difference between her and your average Rie Kugimiya character, for instance.

You make a valid point on the uniqueness of Senjougahara, I guess its just rare to see a character that is 99% Tsun, Kuu and Yan and 1% dere
Recently I began reading the Bakemonogatari light novels, in particular, Hitagi Crab. While on their first trip to Oshino, Senjougahara and Araragi have much banter. As it turns out, a load of it was cut from the Anime. In particular, when they discuss Araragi's vampire abilities.
"And I'm not immortal any more. I just heal a little faster. Otherwise, I'm ordinary."
"What a shame." She sounded disappointed. "I had planned on running a few experiments, but alas."
"Since those experiments would have boiled down to torture, thank god I said something."
"Don't be silly. I was just going to ████ your ██████ with a ████."
"What are those black bars hiding!?"
"Oh, this and that."
"Explain those italics!"
I'm wondering if this classifies as They Would Cut You Up. It involves the whole cutting up thing, but it lacks the involvement of the authorities. It's also something about the fourth wall, but I can't quite recall it.
Aside from that, I also notice that Oshino says "Did something nice happen?" or some variation of that. I think that counts as a Catch Phrase.
Just wanted to know what everyone else thinks about this before I do add anything.

Considering what she has done even before she knew about the vampire thing, you know threatening him with a box cutter and stapling his mouth I don't think I want to know.
Quick question — why does this series sell so insanely well on DVD and especially Blu-ray in Japan? Why is this of all anime the hot item?

I think in part it's because the DV Ds are actually an Unrated Edition compared to the original TV airing, and not in the sense of a lazy editing job. The animation is significantly different in certain parts, and there's lots of restored material.

- Strangled by the Red String: Araragi and Senjogahara. Their early relationship is basically like this: An insane Tsundere with no friends who threatens people's lives with school supplies develops a bizarre attraction for the Unlucky Everydude Weirdness Magnet -exraordinaire main character a week after he helps her with a problem, and decides to ask him out. Even though she's never shown a scrap of kindness towards him, and the two have seemingly no chemistry, our hero decides to accept her offer because she has a nice body and he's a virgin, so who is he to be picky? Now if Araragi meets a nice girl and decides to break up with Senjogahara, she will most likely end his life.
According to the main article, Strangled by the Red String is "where the main character, who was once single, is implausibly thrown into a relationship that's forced down the audience's throat. Love At First Sight taken to a fictional extreme." Maybe its just my naivity, but is the idea of two neurotic, socialy-intept teens with no prior romanitc experience but lots of mommy/daddy issues rushing into a realtionship that they probably should have let develop more slowly really that implausibly?
Also, is it really that rushed? Let's briefly review the prgression of their relationship:
- "Hitagi Crab, Pts. 1-2": Koyomi finds out about Hitagi's "secret" and decides to try and help her with it; Hitagi is grateful.
- "Mayoi Snail, Pts. 1-3": Hitagi and Koyomi hang out, have Seinfeldian Conversations and ultimately admit that they are mutually attracted to one another and begin dating.
- "Suruga Monkey, Pts. 1-3": Hitagi helps Koyomi study for a test; freaks out at Kanbaru for trying to kill her boyfriend.
- "Tsubasa Cat, Pts 1-4": Koyomi and Hitagi go on a parent-chaperoned date; decide they aren't ready for sex.
Moreover, the main article goes on to say that "of course they just simply have to announce their love to the whole world. Oh, and suddenly all of the other characters are telling us how these two belong to each other. But don't expect them to be able to share any interests, or even be able to have a conversation about anything but their schmoopy love. [...] Much like the Shallow Love Interest, ask yourself: what would these two do or talk about together if it wasn't about how much they're in love with each other? If you honestly can't answer the question, it's pretty likely to be this trope." This is just not the case. If anything, Koyomi and Hitagi spend the majority of the series avoiding talking about their feelings; in fact, their inability to express said feelings is one of their defining characteristics.
