A couple of additional Fridge thoughts I had that I wanted to share. I don't want to mess up the page and don't know how to add them, but here they are.
1. Why do the X want to decrease the temperature on ZDR? Oftentimes the X don't really think or have a consciousness, they just live to destroy. However, if you think about it, they wanted to decrease the temperature because they realize that Metroids are harmed by cold temperatures and want to make sure that any Metroids that are on the planet are eliminated.
2. (Fridge Horror) With the end of Dread having happened, I want you, the reader, to think about the famous Super Metroid opening line: "The Last Metroid is in Captivity. The Galaxy is at peace." Now, think about Samus as of the end of Dread. With all the metroids being killed, Samus is now the Last Metroid. With that, think of the opening line again...
"Samus is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace."
3. Raven Beak wanted to make the metroids a bioweapon. This plot has been seen countless times during the franchise, but one thing that crossed my mind is that the Federation has tried to use metroids as bioweapons before. Twice, and both times they were thwarted by Samus (and other external factors). Now, Samus IS the bioweapon; the very thing Samus was trying to prevent happened to her. It's a good thing she's on the side of the Federation... (I theorize that some aliens (like Sylux from Hunters) view Samus as the Federation's pet since she rarely works on her own)
