Actually there is evidence that the Iliad is an entirely inaccurate piece of Green Propaganda. Remember History was written by the victors. The Iliad was written about 400 years after the events supposedly happened. Finally it was I believe it was Arastole who said "Homer taught poets the art of lying" The Ilad is a slanted work of fiction.
Think the first half of the Silmarilion right up to the War of Wrath except from the POV of Sauron.
On adaptation Villainy, The film left out that Agamemnon was willing to sacrifice his own daughter because he believed that one of them was holding the wind from his fleets sails. Telling her mother that she is to be wed to Achilles then sacrificing her. Agamemnon survived the war to be murdered by his wife. However the film did not have time to show this.
Wouldn't Hector's and Achilles' swords as well as the Sword of Troy fall under the Cool Sword trope? They're all unique to the characters using them and I've even seen Achilles' sword (or very similar designs) used in concept art for media such as Magic: The Gathering.
