Can someone specify where or when Neruda said that? Google informs me that a lot of people think it is from Neruda, only no one seems to know how we know that. I wonder if this is one of those "Oscar Wilde"/"Albert Einstein" quotes which were never actually said by the person to whom they are attributed.

Pulled these for lack of context. From the examples I cannot decide whether they are actually examples of these tropes, or just shoehorning.
