Later in the manga Narus frequent punches seem to be motivated by mostley by frustration. She gets annoyed when Keitaro screws up somthing basic because she knows he can do better. The anime just has her lashing out at the slightest provocation.

There are things that the anime does better than the manga and vice versa. In the anime Shinobus\' introduction makes her crush on Keitaro make much more sense. Later in the manga Narus frequent punches seem to be motivated more by frustration than sociopathy. She knows he can do better and realy should have learnt to be more carful of where he\'s walking and what hes grabbing at when he trips over.

Early in the story it\\\'s easy to understand Narus reaction to Keitaro when you remember how they meet each other. It\\\'s no wonder the Hinata residents don\\\'t give him the benifit of the doubt.
