When you find yourself trying to remember a show (or any works) that's on the tip of your tongue but just out of reach, come here - the collective brain of the TVTropes community can probably help. Post all the details you can remember (examples help). If you're looking for a trope, head over to Trope Finder. Have general questions about tropes? Visit Ask The Tropers!
I don't have a trope suggestion, but the only media I can think of that did something close to that was The Shakespeare Plays on PBS decades ago. They presented every play by William Shakspeare as close to the original edition as possible. I think these were hosted (or directed?) by Jonathan Miller.
What are you asking for that is different from Shot-for-Shot Remake? Any adaptation will have some sort of deviation, otherwise it wouldn't be an adaptation and it would just be a copy. Even in the page image at Shot-for-shot Remake, the actors have their hair styled differently. If a book is adapted into a movie, it is a deviation because it's not a book anymore. If a play is adapted into a movie, it's a deviation even if the script is word-for-word the same, because it's performed in a studio in front of cameras instead of on a stage. If a movie from one region such as Insomnia is remade in another region, it's an adaptation because it's not in the original language and has a different cast of actors.
I'm not trying to be pedantic, I just don't think it's clear what you're asking for.
There are some Negima! Magister Negi Magi OAV that are pretty much shot-for-shot remakes of the manga's breather arc.
Edited by Medinoc "And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."^^ Er, yeah I kind of had the same thought. An adaptation will, by design, have enough minute differences to always be a slightly different product. And that's sort of the point of an adaptation; things have to change for the sake of the medium, target audience, budget, and more.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness
As mentioned on the post's title, what are some titles for ANY adaptations of original works that do not use Adaptation Deviation subtropes AT ALL, making it 100% identical to the source material? AKA it's Type 5: Identical Adaptation on the Sliding Scale of Adaptation Modification? That means no Age Lift, Race Lift, Gender Flip, She's a Man in Japan, any Adaptation(al) [X] tropes nonsense, etc, nothing. It simply stays true to the source material and fully respects it by staying faithful to it. In other words, the adaptation is absolutely the same word-for-word and a 1:1 copy of the source material with virtually no changes at all. A la Shot-for-Shot Remake.
Been searching for one and nothing was eye-catching.
