I prefer the current. The languages are represented through Translation Convention by the country flags in the speech boxes.

I prefer the suggestion, mostly because of the sheer implausible denial factor of it, but also because in my opinion, it requires less thought to figure out what's going on.

I will go with the current because the page quote already uses the typical English-Español example.

The current image shows the characters speaking only English. I'd prefer an image with language switching. I really don't think the page image for a trope like Language Fluency Denial should overlap with a trope like Translation Convention. I stitched together a couple of images from different strips of Baby Blues.
