YMMV / Zug Izland

Go To

  • Awesome Music: For some, their entire discography can be this. At the very least, some will agree that Cracked Tiles is a great front-to-back album that is worthy of a listen from any Juggalo who loves rock.
  • Cult Classic: The band is very much obscure and underground (even more so than other Psychopathic Records artists) but it has it's fans.
    • One such example? In 2005 when the band were signed off of Psychopathic Records their opening for the 2005 GOTJ (Gathering Of The Juggalos) would be turned down and replaced with Powerman 5000. While Powerman 5000 are a much, much bigger band then Zug Izland, it's clear the fans wanted Zug Izland instead.
  • Dancing Bear: You best believe that a Juggalo rock band be labeled as such.
  • Epic Riff:
    • The main riff in "Always".
    • The drums in the intro and pre-chorus of "SLAM!", despite sounding like garbage can lids.
    • The violin in the opening of "Saved".
    • The riff in the instrumental section of "Love That Thing".
    • The awesome drum riff before the chorus in "How Does It Feel?".
  • First Installment Wins: Cracked Tiles is usually regarded as their best album, like lightning in a bottle compared to their other albums.
  • Funny Moments:
    • "If we, we played your shitty town, would you help and pass these flyers around?"
    • Mike intentionally cutting his verse off in "So Perfect".
  • Genius Bonus: Toxicology is the study of chemicals and other toxic substances that may make you sick.
  • Junk Rare: Their discography in general, with some of the rarest finds being any of their singles. Syn has tried to resolve this by selling The Promised Land albums on the Facebook marketplace.
  • Misattributed Song: There was a period in time where "Wht Do U Wnt Frm Me" by Rehab was misattributed as a Zug Izland song.
  • Signature Song: "Sunny Day".
  • So Okay, It's Average: Quite a bit of reception to 3:33, citing it as the most generic album to be released by Psychopathic Records.
  • Sophomore Slump: 3:33, to some extent. It is another awesome Zug Izland record, sure, but the sound has moved away from Cracked Tiles yet somehow maintains the sound of the band in a bland way, likely due to it's radio rock sound. Receptors have said the only songs worthy of a second listen from the album are maybe "Saved" and the tracks that first appeared on Psychopathics from Outer Space Part 2, which came out a year earlier than 3:33. That said, it isn't recognized as a bad album, just not as good as Cracked Tiles or The Promised Land.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: "Always", a chilled-out ode to friendship.
  • Tear Jerker: "Prison Song", which is about a man in prison describing the murder of his own mother (who raped him) and how he doesn't regret it, and how he would do it again. You really hear the emotion in Syn's voice in the song.
    • "Life" is a melancholy tune with Syn talking about the hardships of losing his family and friends.
