• Anvilicious: The miniseries does NOT shy away from the fact that the police and prosecutors were racist and incompetent, or that the media acted as a lynch mob.
• Award Snub: It infamously wasn't nominated for any Golden Globes, and despite being the frontrunner at that year's Emmys, it wound up losing to Chernobyl. The latter snub is downplayed though given most will agree Chernobyl was a fantastic miniseries as well.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Amoral Attorney Linda Fairstein is portrayed by Felicity Huffman, who would later plead guilty to criminal activity the very next year (specifically, being connected to the College Admissions Scandal) and was sentenced to 14 days in prison.
• The Woobie: All five of the boys qualify, but Korey arguably stands out as the one who suffers the most.
