All spoilers on this page are left unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

  • ANYTHING involving Kory. The poor kid got sentenced the most years out of all of the five, gets sent to an adult prison, gets cut off from communication from both his mother, and either one of the four other kids, spends his several years mostly in solitary confinement, ETC. The worst part about all this? He was never a suspect to begin with. The only reason his name was dragged into this was because he decided to follow Yusef to the police station for questioning. All of the suffering he had to endure through his time in prison, was all because he didn't leave his friend hanging.
  • An inevitable moment from the very premise of the show, but all five boys getting pronounced guilty at the end of episode 2. Despite the entire episode showing that the whole case was piled with holes and not one shred of evidence proving the boys guilty, outside of the "confession" tapes, all boys are still charged with the crime.
    • The eerie shot of Antron playing his trumpet after being pronounced guilty.
  • Raymond's entire life after prison. No company will hire him, his old home has become crowded and chaotic with his new stepmother's family, and that said stepmother plus others in the family both see and treat him as nothing more than a criminal. Then when he finally moves out with his girlfriend, he's laid off from his job, so he resorts to drug dealing.
  • ALL OF EPISODE 4. Where to begin?
    • The entire episode is about Kory's time in the prison, and as stated above, he had to endure the worst out of all five.
    • Kory's breakdown after being informed about his sister, Marci's death, followed by him seeing her ghost.
'''NOBODY GIVE A FUCK ABOUT ME!!
    • Kory's last memory of Marci: her getting brutally rejected by her mother and leaving her family behind.
    • Kory decides to transfer to a second prison in order to be able to get more visits from his mother. Not only is his prison MILES away from the other one, but he's treated even LESS than the last prison, all shown by him being welcomed by being brutally beaten AND stabbed by inmates, all which was ORCHESTRATED BY A GUARD.
    • Kory's hallucination of him and his former girlfriend, Lisa, spending a day at Coney Island, all he imagines what would happen if he never left with Yusef.
    • Even the moment when Korey learns that the true perpetrator confessed, Korey is unable to comprehend what he's been told he's so broken by what he endured.
      • The ending is this in a way; while Reyes's confession ultimately allowed them to get their names back Reyes himself cannot be prosecuted do to the statute of limitations having run out. More galling is the fact that the police and prosecutors who railroaded them not only don't face punishment for their misconduct but REFUSE to admit that they were wrong, insisting despite all evidence that the boys must have been in cahoots with Reyes all along.
