YMMV / Vs Bob And Bosip

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: When Ron talks about all the pain and torture he suffers, he mentions how Other Bob "uses [Ron's] body for his own satisfaction" and while this may be an implication for torture, this also has an implication of sexual abuse.
  • Adaptation Displacement: Considering AmorAltra's view count usually ranges from 6,000 to 10,000 on Youtube compared to VS. Bob and Bosip having 1.3 million views on its mod page and his OST uploads averaging between 200.000 views each, most people do not know that Bob and Bosip are just anthropomorphic versions of AmorAltra's Icon Kit for Geometry Dash, as that is the primary content for his channel.
  • Angst? What Angst?: Despite Ron having a serious mental breakdown moments before his song, he quickly gets over it a second later.
  • Awesome Music: This mod has a whopping 15 songs, and every single one of them is awesome.
    • "Jump-In", Bob's song, is upbeat and casual, a nice way to start the mod. Bob’s vocals also sound amazing.
    • "Swing" is calmer, yet is equally groovy, and actually has some more intense parts.
    • "Split", the final song of the first week, is frantic and intense, yet still an upbeat banger, It's made even more awesome in EX mode, with a lot more intense sections, It's style is also reminiscent of the gaming Youtuber's intro music.
    • "Groovy Brass" is a great way to start Week 2, with a relaxing, upbeat, and still banger theme.
    • "Intertwined" is calm, yet has some surprisingly good melodies, and the vocals for Ash and Cerbera are very nice to listen to. A great banger to end the second week.
    • "Copy Cat", being the only serious song of Week 3, sounds like an awesome mix between human Bob's singing style and the Other Bob's.
    • "Jump-Out", a meme remix of "Jump-In", is more awesome than you think. Memes aside, the "Little Man", "Onslaught", and "Run" parts are really well placed and well remixed.
    • Hell, even the menu music is an absolute banger.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Both of the bonus songs from the EX update consist of this. "Oblique Fracture" has Amor battling Sans… for whatever reason, while "Game Over" has you fight a Blueballed clone of Boyfriend. Both of them come completely out of nowhere and are never mentioned again.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Ron's ranting about how much torture and abuse he is put through by Other Bob and the devs sounds borderline disheartening and borderline hyperbolic and so over-the-top that it becomes rather funny and exaggerated. And at the end of his rant he is met with a "K" from Girlfriend and he quickly becomes happy again for a "rap battle :)".
  • Estrogen Brigade: Bob and Bosip seem to have gained quite a few female fans.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Amor's first cameo as an opponent or character switch in another mod (in this case, Vs Cream) has him singing the first bar in "Split" without music, only to suddenly say "Here comes the FBI!... Wait, what?" and scream afterwards. This becomes uncomfortably appropriate in light of B&B's development being halted due to numerous allegations against the real Amor, some of which includes sexual misconduct.
    • His next appearance doesn't fare very well either, taking the role of Xenophanes (an entity famous for his In the Back maneuvers) in a "Triple Trouble" cover featuring him, Sticky, CesarFever, and UniqueGeese (collectively known as "The Fun Gang")note  With the controversy, his placement goes from a funny lampshading of his Author Powers role to accurately predicting the allegations that led to his downfall.
    • In this animation for a cover of "Hecker", Bob is seen presumably hiding from the cops, based on the flashing red and blue lights and how scared he looks. While a funny visual gag, the video ended up coming out right before the allegations against Amor came to light, making it very unfortunate and as if Bob was hiding from the cops coming for Amor.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • While the ending is mostly played for laughs, Amor mentions the reason he made the mod was that he was inspired by the talent in the Friday Night Funkin' community.
    • In the cutscene before "Intertwined", Cerbera is vehemently against the idea of rap battling with Ash. Halfway into the song, he appears to have changed his mind.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Thanks to the sheer popularity of literally every fnf mod ever, many players came to the Bob & Bosip mod for the Bob Takeover crossover week.
  • Memetic Mutation: "I'M CRANKING FUCKING 90'S BOSIP!"Explanation
  • Moral Event Horizon: Other Bob is revealed to have crossed it by torturing Ron for years just for his own amusement.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: In 2021, the mod was among the most popular in the entire community, even making it to Gamebanana’s Golden Throne. In later years, however, the mod is more known for the controversy surrounding it’s creator, AmorAltra, who in late 2021 was outed for multiple vile actions like forcing the team to work on the mod with no regards for their mental health, talking to and supporting a known groomer, replacing all the animations done by TheMaskedChris behind his back, and using his NSFW account to follow and draw lewd art of minors. All of this led to the mod being removed from Gamebanana and Gamejolt and Amor leaving the community. Nowadays, any mention of the mod will end up inevitably leading to discussion of the controversy.
  • That One Attack:
    • At a number of points in "Jump-Out" and "Ronald McDonald Slide", your side is suddenly hit with an incredibly dense jack, which is almost guaranteed to take a massive chunk of your health and makes FC runs almost impossible.
    • Near the end of "Jump-Out", Other Bob transitions into the intro portion of "run" from his own mod, taking the exact same charting along with it. Considering "run" is a Take That! at poorly-charted and Nintendo Hard songs, expect to have a fun time with this section.
  • Unexpected Character: During "Jump Out", Boyfriend briefly becomes Mr. Anders. This is extremely out of place, as aside from a joke regarding the "stop posting about Among Us" meme in "Ronald McDonald Slide", the characters themselves never swapped during the Takeover week, just their vocals, not to mention that Anders' mod is one of the more niche ones in the community.
