YMMV / VS Sky

Go To

  • Awesome Music:
    • "Wife Forever": Sky's first song is a stereotypically cute, happy and upbeat tune, reminiscent of an anime opening. It shows what kind of façade Sky projects on herself as she is singing along with Boyfriend.
    • "Sky!": Sky's second song sounds more like an argument between her and Boyfriend. The two of them are constantly going back and forth throughout the song, until Sky inevitably runs out of things to say. At the end, she lets out a groan that says, "You know what? I give up..."
    • "Manifest": Sky's final song is to this mod as Megalovania is to Undertale. This time, Sky doesn't fuck around as she belts out notes like there is no tomorrow, and Boyfriend is desperately trying to save his girlfriend from her clutches.
  • Crack Pairing: Crossing over with, well, Crossover Ship. There's quite a bit of fans whom like to ship Sky with Selever from Mid-Fight Masses. It's usually either portrayed as a rom-com-esque I Love You Because I Can't Control You attraction on Selever's part while Sky acts like a tsundere, easily flustered or something sweet. As some people wanted Sky to have a healthy love interest that isn't Boyfriend.
    • There are also people who pair Sky and Tricky, although this is usually platonic.
  • Fanon: A decently popular headcanon is depicting Sky as Tankman's (usually adoptive) daughter, owing to the popularity of mashups where she sings "Ugh" from week 7 (using her grunt from the end of "Sky" as her replacement ugh) either instead of, against, or even in tandem with him. The Date Week has a hidden asset referencing this.
    • Tricky is also often depicted with Sky.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Albeit unintended, people have found similarities between "Manifest" and Undertale's "Megalovania". The idea of obsessive character fangirls was for a long time associated to the "Sans Fangirls", characters which would usually go out of their way to claim that said character (whom the aforementioned song is associated with) belonged to them and would kill anyone who tried to "take him from them"... Sounds familiar?
  • Funny Moments:
    • This line from Girlfriend:
Girlfriend: [Flipping the Bird at Sky] Go shift to Danganronpa, you dweeb ;Pnote
    • The fact that Boyfriend has to speak English just to try and keep Sky and Girlfriend from starting a catfight.
    • Sky's idle pose is a looping animation of her swinging her hips and shoulders (implying a Squee type reaction to BF). That wouldn't be funny on its own, but she keeps doing it during "Sky!", her Quarreling Song with Boyfriend, leading to the hilarious image of Sky dancing while leveling a Death Glare at him.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: The drama over the creation of Rule 34 of the character, the debate over the character's age, and the removal of the mod from official circulation became more infamous than the mod itself. Sadly, bbpanzu's attempts to quell the knowledge of the controversy and the mod itself, only caused the exact opposite to happen. This seems to have died down sometime after the mod was re-uploaded and ownership of Sky was transferred.
  • Recurring Fanon Character: Sky remains a pretty popular character in the FNF fandom and still has her fans, though not as popular as Whitty, Garcello or even fellow bbpanzu girl: Carol. Even with the deletion of her mod and the controversies that surrounded it, her popularity has still kept her as a mainstay within the fandom roster, especially with those who can separate the character and art from the artist and their inspiration. The mod even received a separate version in the style of the HD mod, for good measure.
  • Self-Fanservice: Some of the Rule 34 fanart obviously tries their best to age up Sky and make her more taller and curvier, either rivaling Girlfriend or even surpassing her in terms of thickness despite the fact that Sky herself has a pretty average figure in the game itself.
