YMMV / Total Drama World Tour Express

Go To

  • Anti-Climax Boss: After eliminating most contestants that crossed her way during her season, Tiana is eliminated by none other than Ezekiel, who causes her to be disqualified due to her injuries not allowing her to keep on with the challenges.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: At the end of the Transylvania challenge, the characters are joined during their "Everybody Laughs" Ending by a vampire, and then take off screaming. This moment is not referenced in any other episode following it.
  • Broken Base: Courtney making it to the finale of Total Drama: Back to School! despite having been introduced in the competition way later than the other characters (episode 13) made some people point out the unfairness of the situation. The fact that there were three finalists this time around served to mitigate a bit the backlash.
  • Continuity Lockout: This is one of the longest series of Total Drama fanfics in Spanish, spawning a total of more than 40 episodes between the two seasons, so this is unavoidable. Of course, one person that starts with Back to School! might wonder who the heck Fiora and Hugo are, why Lindsay is off-handedly being mentioned as the previous season's winner or why Ezekiel is in prison...
  • Creator's Pet: Not one of the most glaring examples, but Fiora makes it far in both seasons she participates in, while Tiana sits in the peanut gallery in Back to School, and Hugo becomes one of the first eliminated in that season as well. One can wonder then whether Fiora is the author's favorite character out of all the original characters.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: All of the Original Characters were well received, but Fiora particularly was chosen over all the other eliminated characters in World Tour Express to come back. Leon, in Back to School!, also had quite a few people supporting him to make it to the finale.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Noah's elimination in Back to School! becomes much funnier when you realize he was eliminated by a character named Emma. You know, like her canon love interest who was introduced a couple years after the other Emma?
    • The author was originally going to include a female character of Japanese descent who was obsessed with her phone. Come the Ridonculous Race spinoff, a similar character named Kitty would be introduced, who was also a female Japanese contestant that was obsessed with her phone. Ironically, she would be the sister of the above-mentioned Emma.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Tiana was a very Alejandro-like villain, manipulating her fellow contestants with a nice, soft façade. But when she gets Justin's face disfigured with acid in one of the challenges, it is clear how far she can go to win.
  • Tear Jerker: Although the stories are quite light-hearted, they can get emotional at times, like with Tiana's breakdown after her elimination or Izzy's reaction to Noah's elimination in Back to School!
