YMMV / Toadette Strikes

Go To

  • Demonic Spiders: You will hate Draglets by the time the game is over. Their fireballs hit with with aggravating accuracy and more often than not they come in packs. Oh, and they're often positioned in places where you can't hit them no matter what you do and their fireballs can go through any solid objects. Joy.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • After Toadette gives him the lemon candy, Anti Guy thanks her for her kindness as tells her that the Koopa Clan never did anything like this to him before and decides to pull a Heel–Face Turn and leave the clan for good. He then returns to sacrifice himself to save Toadette from the falling rubble, allowing her to go and fight Kammy in her cursed state, doubling as Moment of Awesome.
    • In the Golden Ending, Toadette is seen having a tea party with her throughout the game. These include Yoshi, Bob-Belle and Anti Guy. Kammy Koopa also appears as a table for the said tea party after she got turned into a stone block which doubles as a Funny Moment.
    • The normal ending is also pretty sweet. After Kammy was taken care of, the Toads went back to living their lives happily in the form of a short clip show of pictures. The said pictures include a Toad waking up from their bed, a female Toad kissing a male Toad on the cheek, a family of Toads being together, Toadette riding Yoshi in the middle of a night and finally her sleeping in the bed with a Mario plushie.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • This game was in production long before Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was announced and Toadette confirmed to be playable. In the Subcon stage: No Jumping allowed, you're forced to explore a pyramid with your jump ability disabled.
    • One of the levels in the game, "Booster Breakthrough" has Toadette using a rocket that flies horizontally in the air to traverse through the level. Five years later, Super Mario Maker 2 would introduce the Bullet Bill Mask which has the same function as the rocket.
    • The perpetually sleepy Bob-Belle plays Rosalina in "The Mario Show!" Years later, Rabbid Rosalina would also be characterized as a Sleepy Head.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Kammy Koopa crosses it by turning multiple Toads into stone blocks, subjecting them to an And I Must Scream Fate. She crosses it even further by planning to do the same thing with all the other Toads to use them as bricks for her tower, regardless of if they're awake or not.
