- Awesome Art: The 1960s anime is portrayed in a distinctly sketchy but fast-moving style that stands out even today. Masaaki Yuasa has admitted to being influenced by this show's artwork.
- Awesome Music:
- The original anime's OP, Yuke! Tiger Mask is a glorious song portraying the awesomeness of one of the Tiger Cave's best wrestlers.
- The ED, Minashigo no Ballad is a gently melancholic but still defiant tale about how a man must do his best no matter the odds.
- The Italian theme song by the Cavalieri del Re is a staple of Italian pop culture that is familiar even among those who didn't watch the anime.
- Adaptation Displacement: The real wrestlers who used the Tiger Mask name and likeness, are vastly more popular than the anime and manga character. Except in Italy.
- Fountain of Expies: He inspired King from Tekken, and real wrestlers have adopted the Tiger Mask name and fame. Tiger Mask itself owes a little something to Fray Tormenta, a masked wrestler who used his funds to support an orphanage. The series is also the inspiration for the title character from Guin Saga, which in turn inspired no less than... Berserk!
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The anime series is very popular in Italy under the name L'Uomo Tigre, il Campione, even getting a Shout-Out in the Italian dub of Case Closed (when the Killer Of The Week was shown having a wrestling mask, Megure openly wondered if the murderer was Tiger Mask). Incidentally, in Italy almost nobody knows of the real-life Tiger Masks.
- Memetic Mutation: 'The Money Tiger', a mock-opening sequence of a supposed cheesy Hebrew dub of a 1970s/'80s animenote , used the opening sequence of Tiger Mask's and Galaxy Express 999's anime series. The parody gained modest memetic status.
- Moment of Awesome: Various, but the trainees of Tiger's Cave setting enraged pumas and gorillas on Mister X and the admins when they see that the organization is not invincible is the most awesome.
