• Nausea Fuel: The main reason for the novel's initial online infamy. Readers who are particularly sensitive to body horror, rotten meat, maggots, and tapeworms should steer clear.
• Nightmare Fuel: The whole book qualifies, but special mention goes to Agnes' Sanity Slippage towards the end. After Zoe breaks Agnes to the point where the latter is utterly dependent on her, Zoe convinces Agnes to infect herself with a tapeworm in order to fulfill her desire to be a mother. Agnes is overjoyed at her so-called "pregnancy", referring to the worm as her and Zoe's "child", to the point where even Zoe starts to get creeped out.
