WARNING!!! SPOILERS ARE UNMARKED!!!

  • Catharsis Factor:
    • Quilge Opie spends his entire introduction being a borderline comedic Smug Snake, which just makes his Oh, Crap! moments all the more satisfying.
    • The Royal Guard getting treated like dirt after being a bunch of arrogant fuck-ups has also been well-received. It culminates with them being thoroughly Out-Gambitted by Aizen, which results in them getting stripped of their powers and left at the mercy of a vengeful Kaname Tosen. Even some of the Gotei 13 feel that they deserve this, though they stop Tosen anyway.
    • As Nodt being killed by (a clone of) Senbonzakura, thereby avenging Byakuya's death. While his canon death at Rukia's hands wasn't lambasted, fans of the story agree that this was a more fitting way to kill him off, especially since Byakuya was slain by Nodt during the attack on Soul Society this time around. The fact that it was a total stomp did not detract from the scene's awesomeness.
  • He's Just Hiding: Some readers think that Aizen is still alive and will make a comeback after his battle against Yhwach. The epilogue implies that this may very well be the case.
  • Moral Event Horizon:
    • Yhwach casually strolls over it by draining most of his perfectly loyal army of their powers, killing several of them in the process, in order to empower his personal guards after they are rendered incapable of harming Aizen—though not before openly calling them "useless."
    • The Royal Guard cross it when they backstab Excalibur after she convinces the rest of the Shinigami to not force Shirou to become the next Soul King—by offering an alternative that would benefit everybody—and try to complete the ritual themselves out of a stubborn refusal to accept the fact that their way of doing things isn't the best way. This is such a contemptible act that everybody else turns against them in a fit of rage, and they are so self-righteous that they can't understand why.
  • One-Scene Wonder: The clone of Senbonzakura shows up, avenges Byakuya's death, and fades away. And it is awesome to read.
  • The Scrappy: Kisuke Urahara and the Royal Guard are not well-liked due to their obvious plans to backstab Shirou and their massive sense of self-righteousness, though this is probably intentional on the author's part.
