YMMV / The True Story of Puss 'N Boots

Go To

  • Accidental Aesop: Much like the original fairy tale, it's totally okay to lie as long as you don't get caught. Those for some reason this version of the fairy seems to be trying to argue that telling the truth is better for more than half the movie before never mentioning it again.
  • Unintentional Uncanny Valley: The Princess' face being disturbingly realistic while attached to her cartoonish, hourglass body makes her look frankly as unsettling as characters like the Chamberlain that are supposed to make you unsettled.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: The movie seems to have some kid-friendly elements, but the female characters (at least two of them) have extreme hourglass figures that highlight their butts, songs with the Princess go out of their way to focus the camera *on* her butt, and the royal family's punishment for people who lie to them is grinding them up into hamburger meat and possibly eating them.
