YMMV / The Sponge House

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Just like the old woman he's based on, it's unclear whether Christopher from "Have You Seen This Frog?" deliberately kills his pet frogs or just accidentally overfeeds them and/or gives them the wrong food.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • "Opposite Day" adds an epilogue not featured in the original episode — Leni and Luan (who were standing in for SpongeBob and Patrick) apologise to Lori (who took Squidward's role) for accidentally getting her banned from the potential college, and she admits that she made Opposite Day up to get them to behave. Leni and Luan reveal that if Lori had only told them about the interview, they would have behaved, so she apologises too. Then, it's revealed that Bobby found Lori a new college to try.
    • In "Dying for Pie", instead of being angry that Luan didn't explode, her siblings are relieved and happy.
Luna: "Little sis! You're still here!" (everyone hugs her)
Luan: "Well, of course I'm still here. And since we finished the old list, I thought I'd make a new one. I already filled up this book with ideas. We should be able to finish before next year."
Lori: "Wait a minute! We literally just spent the day doing ridiculous things with you because we thought you were gonna explode!"
Luan: "Explode? But I'm not even angry."
Lincoln: "No, we thought you were gonna blow up."
      Luan: "Again, I'm not mad."
Lola: "We thought you were gonna DIE!"
    • The elephant being reunited with her baby in "The Peanut Incident".
  • Squick: Charles's ears exploding in "The Great Dog Race".
  • Tear Dryer: In one story, Lynn Sr. fights with a shark over a paycheck, and it one point it seems like the shark ate him, so the family cries. There's even one part where baby Lily says, "Dada?", and then Rita replies, "Dada's gone." However, Lynn Sr. then boards the boat, revealing himself to still be alive.
  • Tear Jerker: In "Missing Boo Boo Bear", Lori sings a song about how without Bobby around, all she can do is cry, which ends up making herself and her siblings all cry.
