• Ensemble Dark Horse: The angry father driving his family on a road trip to Cape Canaveral is quite popular with fans and he and his "That's it! Back to Winnipeg!" have reached memetic status.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: During their road trip, Bart and his friends visit Branson, Missouri, which Homer previously described as "Vegas, if it were run by Ned Flanders". A later episode would have Homer and Flanders visit the real Vegas in order to get the latter to start enjoying life more, only for them to get more than they bargained for when they get too drunk and marry two barmaids. One can't help but think that if they went to Branson like Bart and co. did in this episode, they would have been fine.
• One-Scene Wonder: The aforementioned Canadian father and his family have become a popular meme.
• Unintentional Period Piece:
  • While working as a courier, Bart is asked to deliver 500 Big Macs to Marlon Brando's island (Tetiꞌaroa in French Polynesia), pinning the episode to the time before Brando's death in 2004 and the deed to the island being auctioned off afterwards.
  • Nelson forcing the group to make a stop in Branson, Missouri to see an Andy Williams concert places the episode before Williams' death in 2012.
