- Archive Panic: Not as bad as most examples, as this series has 26 episodes with several short stories interweaved, but the actual episodes aren't short themselves. The word's still out if reading through them is a slog or not. That being said, Season is getting bigger...
- Crosses the Line Twice: In the 11th episode, Ridley killing Sakaki in front of Ed? Horrifying. Then comparing her to a broken appliance and asking for a new one? Hilarious.
- Elimination Houdini: Due to the RNG nature of these arenas, several characters can make it farther that one would think they should:
- Cleopterix in the 9th episode is similar to Cool Cat from the last episode, minus the involvement from a third-party (in Cool Cat's case, the involvement of the Goke): Being a character that seemed like a joke pick that manages to be the final contestant the winner has to face. Unlike Cool Cat, who was given a very dark backstory before being placed in the Arena, the only thing that comes from Cleopterix is the joke that no one really cares about her game. The only reason that she likely made it to second is because she ends up killing the two characters the winner got the closest to in that Arena, so it wouldn't make sense story wise if it was someone else instead.
- Starla Shine in the 17th episode was not likely going to win, being a character from a fanfic that portrayed their characters as more heroic than they should be and being a character that Baskerra seems to detest. And unlike when her husband Lightning Dawn participated in the 15th episode, who showed himself to be capable to survive for as long as he did, Starla ends up showing none of the skills that someone of her position should have and gets humiliated throughout the Arena. It's to the point of Damsel Scrappy status! And yet, despite all that, she managed to get third place. And during her fight against the Magician, she doesn't even die by his hands, instead from the botox stopping her heart. And the only time she does shows off her skills is when she ends up killing Starfire by accident while aiming for the Hanged Man in the fifth chapter, and two of the only remaining contestants left in the sixth chapter, one of them being the fan favorite Loona, unintentionally doing Dr. Z's work for him!
- Dan Hibiki in the episodes he shows up in is still the big Joke Character that we all know and love; namely that he constantly boasts about his skills... while lacking the capability to back up his claims. Despite this and being surrounded by a lot more competent characters than he is, he not only manages to always end up as the last member of his team each time, but he also manages to either be one of the last 10 contestants left and/or managing to make it to the last chapter get a chance to fight the villain of the Arena.
- In the 27th episode, we have Karen and Dave Johnson, who quite fitting of the theme of the episode, are complete jokes. The former is an Obnoxious Entitled Housewife with a massive temper and the latter is a complete Manchild (With massive emphasis on the "child" part). They are also arguably the least capable ones of their teams (With Karen not even bringing a gun with her like she did in the first episode, instead using her handbag to attack with). And yet despite that, they both manage to last up to the final chapter, with the author being astounded that Dave Johnson managed to make it that far instead of someone with substance.
- Take That, Scrappy!: This fanfic isn't afraid to give certain characters a good thrashing, like Cool Cat and Theresa Sullivan. Characters from controversial works like My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic receive similar treatment whenever they appear.
- Works such as How I Became Yours and All Star Batman and Robin get repeatedly mocked for making its characters extremely OOC from their original source material.
- The Woobie: Many characters can become this either due to what happened to them before an Arena, or what happens to them in it. These ones however take the cake:
- Ed has the record for the most amount of appearances in the Arena at 11. This also means that he has the most amount of deaths as well at 10, ranging from brutal to sudden. Fortunately, come the 1st Season Finale, Ed FINALLY manages to win and leave for good. And he got a girlfriend to boot too! Overall, doubles as an Iron Woobie for how he (for the most part) takes it all in stride.
- Twilight Sparkle already had it rough due to the Starfleet canon where she was slain by Raven after disobeying Starfleet to stop the mad assassin. As a result of this, Celesto refuses to let her pass into the afterlife, and Celestia ends up chewing her out over her actions (With Twilight not knowing that Celestia was forced to say this by Celesto). Then, when she gets revived in the 20th Arena, she's far away from her land and friends and forced to participate in a killing game. And all Twilight wants to do at first is just see her friends again. And as if this wasn't bad enough, unlike every character that canonically died but was revived in an Arena, she seems to only have so much time before her body gives up and she dies again.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Many characters chosen can end up as this, ESPECIALLY if they end up dying during the Bloodbath.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Due to the nature of these Arenas, many possible interactions between characters may not happen since one of them may die before they actually can meet.
