• Genius Bonus: The episode "Gunfire" has Mark refer to ice cream as "that new stuff", a nice little nod to the history of ice cream. Ice cream had been around for at least a century before the time period the show is set (for example, Benjamin Franklin is known to have regularly eaten ice cream, and Thomas Jefferson had his own recipe for it), but it was largely seen as an Awesome, but Impractical novelty until the 19th century, when various advances in ice-cream-making machinery and techniques made it easier to mass-produce. One of these innovations was Nancy M. Johnson's hand-cracked ice cream freezer, which is seen in the episode "One Went to Denver".
• Hilarious in Hindsight: One episode had a brief conversation where Mark mentioned his genius idea for eliminating dishes... bread bowls.
