- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: In the scene where the Phantom is alone on the roof, he sees visions of men in a rat trap and Christine in a sensual posture. It never happens again, and there's no explanation as to what its purpose is in the movie.
- Covers Always Lie: The front covers of the VHS and DVD players presented a masked Phantom weeping blood. Instead, the Phantom doesn't wear a mask and doesn't have a facial disfigurement.
- Squick: One of the managers tries to prey on a child ballerina by offering her chocolate.
