YMMV / The Mandalorian S2E3 "Chapter 11: The Heiress"

Go To

  • Continuity Lockout: The episode treats the Continuity Cavalcade around Bo-Katan fairly well, addressing mostly only what they needed for the episode. However, the show clearly assumes viewers have prior familiarity with the canon judging by how the bombshells of other sects of Mandalorian existing and Bo-Katan being the leader of Mandalorian society are played awfully casually.
  • I Knew It!: Bo-Katan confirms one fan theory as to why the Mandalorians introduced in Season 1 never remove their helmets, which presumed that they belong to a different faction than those shown in other Star Wars media throughout both the old EU and the new continuity (chiefly The Clone Wars), with its own unique rules.
  • Moral Event Horizon: The Quarren sailors cross this by attempting to drown Din after kicking the Child's pod into the mamacore's mouth.
  • Shocking Moments: Bo-Katan is back and she's after the Darksaber.
  • Spoiled by the Format: As in Episode 9, "The Marshal", a dramatic character reveal is spoiled by closed captioning showing Bo-Katan's name right there on screen before she ever introduces herself. Less jarring in this case since anyone who knows who she is would have recognized the helmet design immediately. The captions for this scene were eventually edited so her lines before she reveals her name are credited to "Woman 1" instead.
  • Win Back the Crowd: Bryce Dallas Howard's episode in Season 1 was one of the more contested, with many fans accusing it of just being Padding right when the show should be ramping to a whole new level. This time she gets a hugely important Wham Episode with several big action scenes and was universally praised.
