- Narm: The movie's attempt at drama didn't work as expected, to say the least. The trade-off of one-liners between Sinclair and Kowloon (which is supposed to sound Badass) is particularly laughable.
- One-Scene Wonder: The battle in a train where Kowloon fights Jane one-on-one, ending with the train going off its tracks and rolling through the slums area, with both combatants being tossed around like ragdolls, is one of the more decently-choreographed battles with slightly better special effects. It's an above-average action scene, and sticks out particularly in an otherwise awful film.
- So Bad, It's Good: As noted by various media sources.
- Special Effect Failure: Plenty of bad CGI and obvious wirework throughout the film, but especially the Nine-headed dragon which looks like something from a 2001 PS2 game. Especially jarring since the movie came out the same year as Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) with the impressive King Ghidorah.
