- Hilarious in Hindsight: In retrospect, Ukelele Ike's falsetto Scat Singing at the end of "Nobody But You" sounds very similar to the later musician Tiny Tim's style.
- Norma Shearer played Juliet in the Technicolor segment of Romeo and Juliet. Come seven years later, she would play Juliet again in Romeo and Juliet (1936).
- Mis-blamed: The film is sometimes cited as being the direct cause of John Gilbert's downfall, due to his pleasant tenor voice not quite matching his heroic, dashing screen image. However, no contemporary reviews of the film made any criticism of his performance. His next films, His Glorious Night and Redemption, were the ones where his shortcomings (i.e. his over-the-top acting) really showed. note
