• Harsher in Hindsight: The entire character of Sody Pop is cringe inducing in light of John K.'s outing as a serial sexual predator toward teenage girls. She contributes nothing meaningful to the plot and it seems like she was created as an excuse for him to draw softcore child porn. Even worse, in one episode George yells at her to stay away from Jimmy because he's a minor.
• Once Original, Now Common: While the fact that a cartoon could be made in Flash at all was definitely impressive back in 1997, for the next two decades, making Flash animations became something bored teens were doing for shits and giggles.
• Padding: A lot of the series' runtime consists of either very slow-paced scenes or very drawn-out gags, such as the scene where Jimmy is drooling in George's kitchen.
• Protection from Editors: Since the cartoon was independently made, and without network scrutiny, John K. basically had carte blanche to make this cartoon as he wanted it to be (at least, within the confines of pre-2000 Adobe Flash).
• Squick: Some of the more sexually explicit gags involving Sody Pop become this when you realize that she's meant to be 15 years old, such as her extremely small bathing suit and unbuttoning her drop-seat in the Christmas special. Worst of all, in her introductory shot, once the camera finishes panning up, her shirt is see-through, meaning her nipples are clearly visible. Granted it's only see-through in that one shot, but geez!
  • And don't forget that despite his freakish size, Jimmy is a mentally handicapped eight-year-old! The sheer level of messed-up is absolutely cringe inducing, especially given what's come to light about John K.
• Ugly Cute: Jimmy. He may be a Gonk for the most part, but his Adorkable outfit and awkward personality, not to mention his big blue eyes means he's also quite endearing.
• Values Dissonance: Again, Sody Pop. Even negating the fact that she was likely made by her creator to pander to his attraction to underage teenage girls, anyone who'd try to create a fanservicey jailbait character like her in The New '10s (when even implied sexualization of minors is heavily scrutinized) would be committing career suicide at best.
