- Broken Base: Some fans were disappointed that Yi Huai is absent (and apparently doesn't exist in the new timeline, since Yan Chen is now Lian Cheng's oldest brother). Others didn't mind his absence.
- Quirky Work: This show is extremely weird even by The Eternal Love's standards.
- The Woobie: Yan Chen. The woman he loves dies and is replaced by Xiao Tan, then the empress possesses Xiao Tan and uses her body to murder Yan Chen.
