YMMV / Tendies Stories

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: There's a theory that these stories are actually written from the point of view of a man suffering from severe autism.
  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: Systems similar to Good Boy Points do exist in real-life parenting, except, of course, they are used with actual children and usually don't actually award points for things like "not dumping your festering waste on your mother's bed".
  • Crosses the Line Twice: The basic premise behind the series' humor.
  • Fridge Horror: In one of the stories that ends with Anon's mom hanging herself he makes a brief reference to his "healthy, thick blood", implying that he might have type 2 diabetes due to being 300 lbs. Which means that a man who practically can't take care of himself just lost the (possibly) only person he could rely on while suffering from uncontrolled diabetes. That won't end well...
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Just a year later, the illustrations of smug Pepe the Frog created for these stories, often portraying him wearing diapers or sleeping in a baby crib, look pretty hysterical after Pepe becoming a prominent political icon in the 2016 presidential election (thanks to his heavy usage among online neo-Nazis) and being declared a hate symbol by ADL.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • A female version of Good Boy Points, known as Pretty Princess Points, was a short-lived meme in early 2015.
    • The word "tendies" has evolved to "tendiebux", a nickname for unemployment benefits or other welfare money.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Many fans agree that Anon crossed it when he poured his maternal grandmother's ashes into one of his piss bottles and chugged it in front of his mother.
  • Nausea Fuel: Any story that involves Anon feeding Mommy 'Tendies from my endies'. They involve forced coprophagia.
  • Running the Asylum: Because the stories are usually posted on anonymous message boards, there is no clear line between writers and readers, as anyone can post them and repost, often adding their own lines or responding to commenters as if they were the original authors describing their own experience.
  • Spiritual Successor: To manchild stories and "poo poo pee pee" comics.
  • Tear Jerker: In one story, Anon barges into his mom's room and demands tendies after accumulating enough GBP, only to find her sitting in her chair and crying. The thing she was crying over? An old album with Anon's baby pictures.
  • The Woobie: Poor Anon's mom...
