YMMV / Tata, a Marcin powiedział...

  • Cult Classic: If you are Polish and born before mid-90s, you will know this show.
  • Memetic Mutation: The title phase itself had a second life as an internet meme, used to highlight absurdity of claims made by politicians, in the format of "Dad, X said that [Insert Impossible Claim Here]". Alternative version was spoofing different historical setups, like Ancient Egyptian peasants or Mayan sacrificial table.
  • Periphery Demographic: The show was originally aimed at children, yet gained massive following from parents. The screen writer quickly realised this and adjusted the dialogues to accomodate both groups. Parents especially liked it for providing answers for uncomfortable questions or giving hints on how to explain different matters to their own children.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The entire show pretty much screams about being the product of the 90s Poland.
  • Values Dissonance: The showrunners said that the original German series would be hard to adapt in the post-communist Poland given that the main conflict was the left-wing dad of Charly (Marcin) and the CDU voting conservative Papa. However, what was new in the 90s Poland was that "Father spends time to talk to his son".
